Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer as a building advisor?

1

We provide independent building advisory services across all stages of construction. From pre-contract reviews and builder selection, through to construction monitoring, progress inspections, defect identification, and handover support, we work exclusively for you, not the builder.

How is your advice different from what my builder tells me?

2

Your builder works for themselves. We work for you.

We give you unbiased, professional guidance based on your best interests, helping you understand your contract, identify risks, and make informed decisions throughout your build without the sales pressure.

Are you independent from builders and developers?

3

Completely. We have no commercial relationships with any builders, developers, or suppliers. That independence is the foundation of what we do, it means the advice you receive is always objective and entirely in your corner.

How do I get started with a building advisor?

4

Simply reach out via our contact page or give us a call. We'll start with a free initial conversation to understand where you're at in your process and explain how we can help. From there, we'll recommend the right level of support for your situation.

At what stage of my build should I bring you in?

5

The earlier the better, ideally before you sign anything. We can add the most value during builder selection and contract review and work as your authorised representative. That said, we regularly step in mid-build and can still make a significant difference, even if construction is already underway.

Can you help me if I've already signed a building contract?

6

Yes. Many of our clients come to us after signing. We'll review your existing contract, help you understand your rights and obligations, and provide ongoing oversight to protect your interests for the remainder of the build.

Do you offer independent advice for residential builds only?

7

Not at all. While we work extensively with residential clients on new homes, knockdown rebuilds, and major renovations, we also provide independent advisory services for commercial projects and property developers. Whatever the scale or complexity of your build, we can tailor our support to suit your needs.

What does it cost to work with a building advisor?

8

Our fees vary depending on the scope of support you need, whether that's a one-off contract review or full project oversight from start to finish. We offer transparent, fixed-fee services so you always know what to expect.

Will you attend site inspections and meetings with my builder on my behalf?

9

Yes. Site inspections and builder meetings are a core part of what we do. We attend at critical construction stages, document what we find, ask the right questions, and keep you informed, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets glossed over.
